Investigation of the optimum integrated management scheme for municipal solid waste in the Municipality of Delta targeting at waste utilization & preparation of local management plan

The aim of the project entitled was to develop a strategic waste management framework tailored to the specific needs and characteristics of the Municipality under investigation that ensured sustainable and environmentally sound management of municipal solid waste.

An integrated four-stage methodology was applied through which the best alternative scenario for the management of the generated municipal solid waste was determined and included full list of technical specifications, detailed description of the equipment and the related infrastructure required and analysis of all cost parameters. In order to provide solid documentation for the proposed solution, comprehensive examination of the existing situation as well as planning of dissemination and publicity activities took place.
