Strategic Environmental Assessment Study for the Peripheral Planning for the Management of Waste in Crete, Crete Region, 2011

The Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) according to the EU Directive was developed for the Regional Waste Management Plan of Crete and provided concrete information regarding the detailed estimation and integrated assessment of all environmental impacts associated with the generation and management of the solid waste, including municipal waste, sewage sludge, end-of-life vehicles, electrical and electronic equipment, tyres, batteries and accumulators, constructions and demolition waste, agricultural waste, etc in Crete. In this way the application of the most suitable management scenario and the foreseen waste management plans will take place with the minimum environmental pressure.
