Study on the development of green recycling points and waste transfer stations in Volvi municipality & Study on the exploitation of waste as resource in Volvi municipality, 2017

The aim of the projects was to develop a strategic waste management framework tailored to the specific needs and characteristics of the Municipality under investigation that ensured sustainable and environmentally sound management of municipal solid waste.

An integrated four-stage methodology was applied through which the best alternative scenario for the management of the generated municipal solid waste was determined and included full list of technical specifications, detailed description of the equipment and the related infrastructure required and analysis of all cost parameters. In order to provide solid documentation for the proposed solution, comprehensive examination of the existing situation as well as planning of dissemination and publicity activities took place.
